University of Guelph

The University of Guelph is located about an hour's drive from Toronto. It has a beautiful campus with a blend of traditional and modern architecture. You can walk to the centre of the campus in less than 15 minutes. There are excellent recreation and sports facilities, arenas, pools, fitness facilities, with weekly musical events, and drama productions. There are about 13000 undergraduate students in 11 degree programs, with 700 full-time faculty staff, with the largest concentration in Canada of life scientists concerned with plant and animal research.

Additional Information

The University of Guelph was founded in 1964 but its traditional strengths in agriculture and veterinary medicine date back 140 years through its previous founding colleges. It is now a thriving university with six colleges which cover the Arts, Biological Sciences, Physical and Engineering Science, Social and applied Human Sciences, Ontario Agricultural College and Ontario Veterinary College.

The University of Guelph gives its students and international perspective by providing more than 65 study abroad opportunities. Guelph has an excellent library (2.5 million volumes) and forms part of a network of agricultural colleges and research stations at 21 sites in Ontario.
