Additional Information
The University of Ghent, founded in 1817, located in the southern Belgium, is well placed to attract students from many countries. With 24000 students and 5450 staff, one of its main aims is to establish itself as a genuinely international university. For the thousands of students who come to Ghent each year as exchange students, there is a very well organised International Relations Office which works along with the Central Students Administration Office to make sure that all students' queries and information needs are met rapidly and efficiently. Most of the undergraduate courses are taught in Dutch, but many of the M.Sc. courses are given in English. Courses are assessed according to the ECTS system, which ensures academic recognition throughout Europe.
