Example B

  1. The samples that the students took today are satisfactory.
  2. The samples that ther students took last week are less satisfactory.
  3. The first samples that the students took are the least satisfactory.

Example C

  1. The fish in Tank No. 1 receive less fish than the fish in Tank No. 2.
  2. The fish in Tank No. 1 receive least food.

Less and least are used with adjectives (Example B) and also with uncountable nouns (Example C).
