OCEAN ANIMALS

Tiny floating organisms called zooplankton prey on the diatoms and dinoflagellates.
The most numerous and diverse zooplankton are the copepods. They include herbivores, carnivores, omnivores and parasites.

Among the plankton are tiny larvae of crabs, starfish and molluscs. Many of these are sedentary as adults.
