1st digit specifies the YEAR in which course is normally taken
2nd and 3rd digits designate the particular course
4th digit shows the DURATION of the course
For example

0
means that the course extends over both semesters
1
means that the course is offered in the first semester
2
means that the course is offered in the second semester
3
means that the course is a field course offered outside the normal session
5
means that the course is offered in either the 1st OR 2nd semester
